This week’s entry into the Write Brain TV music library is a modern-day Punk rock masterpiece by a rapidly-ascendant three-piece that is certain to soon take over the LA scene.

Crisis Actor’s slash-and-burn debut album from 2022, False Flag, is an aggressively spectacular set of songs that set fire to all the dessicated, recycled drek that defines the contemporary alternative scene.

The riotous trio are comprised of guitarist Tony Knox, who otherwise spends his days as a radio host/dj (No More Heroes on KXLU), bassist Zach Crawford, a fellow dj who gigs as Paul Cinnamon, and drummer Jonathan Ihejeto, a hip-hop artist who tours under the moniker Jet 2.

Garnering a reputation for high-octane live sets, the band unleashes a brand of Punk equal parts melodic and dangerous, with the bass-thumping  struttiness of Gang of Four, those iconic tight and crunchy guitars that Hüsker Dü made famous alternating with Surf and Hardcore influences, and incredibly propulsive, rhythmic Afrobeat drumming that gives the band a truly signature sound.

If you like your Punk to slash like sabres and deliver hard-hitting social commentary a la Dead Kennedies or Black Flag by way of Fela Kuti, than Crisis Actor is the band for you!
