Dig your spurs in and kick up some dust with this week’s Mexican Mural music drop here on WRITE BRAIN TV.

Hailing from Mexico City, Mexico, She Killed in Ecstasy cook-up some country-fried sludge punk on their second full length album, the magnificent, genre-bending Happiness. With dashes of Grunge, Stoner Rock, Blue Cheer-style 60s Acid Rock, and a heavy dose of Country Western and Blues, the band exhibits an incredibly wide-ranging palette of low-tuned, bass-heavy sensibilities that build on each other to create a distinctive and swaggering honky tonk sound.

Roiling to an enigmatic steam, the melding of these disparate genres is truly something to behold; tempos vary wildly from song-to-song, as do the musical influences, but the album never loses its tobacco-stained juke joint sound. With phenomenal guitar work that vacillates between languid ballad strums, sting-y doom licks, and soaring guitar-hero antics, gravelly, whiskey-soaked vocals, a powerful trough-fed bass bottom, and punishing drums with more horsepower than a stallion in stride, this forceful trio obliterate anything in earshot with their galloping brand of Hard Rock.

WRITE BRAIN TV is proud to present this rip-roarin’, buck-breakin’ album from one of Mexico’s most exciting up-and-coming groups.
